About us
Thornton Golf Club is a beautifully designed par 70 parkland golf course. Our course is set within lush, green landscapes, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all skill levels. The course winds through mature trees, scenic water features, and strategically placed bunkers that provide both aesthetic appeal and tactical difficulty.
Its well-maintained fairways and greens are framed by a variety of natural obstacles, requiring precision off the tee and thoughtful course management. With a mix of doglegs, open stretches, and undulating terrain, the layout offers a variety of shot-making opportunities, demanding accuracy and strategy throughout the round.
The parkland setting ensures a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect location for a memorable golfing experience.

A great venue for a round. Lovely course. Fairly tight tree lined fairways. Greens running well and bunkers in very good order. Staff were very welcoming as were club members. We really enjoyed our game at Thornton and look forward to returning.

Very welcoming Pro on arrival. Course tricky with a few risk and reward holes. Greens lovely to putt on. Course in great condition. Clubhouse was lovely and with a great view of the first tee. Nice welcome here also. Had nice fresh made scones. We will definitely have a return visit here.

Brilliant course in excellent condition, best greens I’ve been on all year. Looking at course map it looks like basic out and back layout but it doesn’t feel like it and the last 5/6 holes are crackers. Course is not long or overly punishing but enough to test you. Will be back.
